PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Steelers have drafted Ohio State offensive tackle Mike Adams in the second round of the NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-8, 320-pound Adams gives the Steelers added depth along the line. Pittsburgh drafted Stanford guard David DeCastro in the first round on Thursday.
Adams was an All-Big Ten selection in 2010 and made the second team last year despite being limited to seven games after serving a suspension for violating NCAA rules for accepting improper benefits.

The Steelers are hoping to upgrade their pass protection after allowing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to get sacked 42 times last season. Roethlisberger was injured during most of the 2011 season, including an ankle injury suffered in a loss to the Cleveland Browns that limited his effectiveness.
Adams could give the Steelers some flexibility along the line.

The moment all players have been waiting for is finally here -- The 6:30 AM work out at the Coffman Weight Room begins April 30th, three days a week!!

This great opportunity is only offered to the Coffman football players!!  Here are a few answers to questions on why at the crack of dawn:

A study shows the best time to excercise is......  really anytime of the day. But there are proven fact that getting heart pumping early in the morning does raise mental awareness and gets the players off to a vibrant start of a day!   6:30 am should still provide ample time for a good solid workout, shower, and prep up for the start of first class at 8:00 am

In the end, it's all about comradery amongst the future teammates as well as with the coaching staff before the start of preseason. This Team building opportunity through interacting and helping eachother is one of the highest priority in the ranks of Coffman football culture.

122 days and counting.......

.

"Blink"...., and it was all it seem to take as the 2011 season came to an end.  Pickerington Central has ended the Coffman's state playoff run to move on to the next round.  Photos from this game are posted in the photo gallery on this site.

Despite being faced with few adversities throughout the season, Dublin Coffman Shamrocks posted an 8-3 overall record and advanced on to the state playoffs for the third consecutive season, making it the ninth time to qualify in the past eleven years!

It was a short eleven weeks since the first day our heroes were cheered on to the field on that hot evening in August.  Through all the wins and the losses, we've made new friends, shared the joys, and built common interests together that resulted in something positive each and every one of us can take away from.

As the 2011 season comes to an end, the seniors who have been part of the Coffman Football Team will cherish this great memories for years to come.

Congratulations to the Dublin Coffman Football Seniors for job well done!

Although he could not attend the 10th year reunion that was held here at DCHS on October 7th, his parents were able to be present to accept his recognition and be honored on his behalf.  Once they returned home, they sent the 10th year anniversary t-shirt to Max right away who took the picture below.

Max is a Pilot with the 79th Rescure Squadron - "The Desert Knights" in Khandahar Province, Afghanistan - another product of our proud Dublin Coffman Football family.

Within a day after earning its first 2013 commitment, University of Toledo went on in hopes to expand its roster by offering a spot to a second Shamrock in four weeks.

The Rockets gave a formal knod to Coffman QB James Walsh just as his OU offer from the day before was beginning to settle in.  James and the recent Rockets recruit Marcus Davis connected for over 900 yards during the 2011 regular season.

Toledo Rockets will be lead by the newly hired head coach Matt Campbell, who was the team's offensive coordinator for the past three seasons.  The Rockets are known to have one of the best recruiting class in the MAC  conference for the past three years and have went on to finish the 2011 season with the record of 9-4, including a 42-41 win over Air Force in the Military Bowl.
